Still in Ushuaia

Yesterday we finally were able to load onto Pelagic Australis. Skis and bags on. We settled in and then had a lovely meal with lashings of beer and Mendoza malbec. The saloon is packed, with lots of calls to "pass the pepper" etc.

Today three of us had a walk which included jumping fences and gates near the Argentinian naval base, successfully avoiding arrest. No, it wasn't that bad, but it felt quite cheeky in a way.

Our plans to depart this afternoon have been been scuppered by the wind. Hopefully tomorrow morning but no guarantee. Patience is a virtue I am hoping to encourage. So we wait. With pleasant company and food, hanging around on a boat can be good, but going would be better.

In other news, Tony's skis arrived, finally, excitingly, after being lost luggage And we have started our Sturgeon anti motion sickness pills. Must take care with tonight's malbec, as they can add together to make one rather drowsy.

  1. Plenty of time then to brush up sailing skillsthen....scrubbing the decks, knot tying and drinking red wine. Hope the weather is in your favour soon.

  2. Nice one. I'd suggest that you break it to the kids gently about how well hamster goes with Chilean malbec.
